a renovation project for a single family residence in norfolk, virginia along the elizabeth river. the project seeks to open up the existing kitchen and breakfast nook to the surrounding living rooms and waterfront views, with updates to the entry foyer, powder rooms, parlor, dining room, and laundry room. the kitchen would be the heart of the design, as it's where most family and friends gather, breathing new life into the space with warm materials and a large custom island for communing. each space was designed to complement the next, with touches of family art and pieces collected from travels around the world.
